Silver Football Review

Editorial policy

Silver Football Review aims for clear, fair and carefully framed writing about association football. We explain what an observation supports, distinguish interpretation from established fact and correct the record when we get something wrong.

Accuracy and context

Articles are written to make football ideas understandable without overstating what a match moment can show. We take care with terminology, describe the context needed to follow an example and avoid turning a tactical tendency into a universal rule. Where a point is uncertain or open to interpretation, the wording should make that clear.

Independence

Editorial choices are guided by relevance to readers and the publication's subject. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable conclusion or editorial control. If a connection could affect how a piece is understood, we make that connection clear to readers.

Corrections

If a reader spots an error, they can send a message through the Contact page with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, amend the article and explain the correction in context. We do not quietly leave a known factual error unaddressed.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Any relevant relationship is stated with the material. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when an illustration is AI-generated, it is labelled as such and is not presented as documentary match imagery.

Our point of view

The score is only one part of the picture.

Silver Football Review looks at the shapes, decisions and movements that give a match its character. The aim is to make close watching rewarding, whether you follow one team or many.
